A proposed programme for children and young people
Creative Conversations is an exciting new wellbeing programme being developed by Embody & Connect CIC to support children and young people through movement, creativity, and meaningful connection.
Designed for young people aged 8–16, the programme will create safe, inclusive spaces where participants can build confidence, improve emotional wellbeing, express themselves creatively, and develop positive relationships.
Unlike traditional wellbeing programmes, Creative Conversations recognises that some of the most important conversations don't start with words. By combining creative movement, arts activities, and guided conversation, we offer different ways for young people to communicate, connect, and thrive.
Shaped by our community
Creative Conversations has been developed through extensive community engagement. Over 80 parents, carers, educators, and community members shared their views through our consultation survey, alongside teacher listening groups, parent conversations, and taster sessions.
The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the need for more inclusive, creative wellbeing opportunities that support emotional health, confidence, belonging, and connection—particularly for children experiencing anxiety, social isolation, trauma, or who are neurodivergent.
These conversations have directly influenced the design of the programme, ensuring it reflects the needs, strengths, and experiences of the young people and families we hope to support.
Our vision
We are currently seeking funding and local partners to bring Creative Conversations to life across Islington.
By working alongside schools, families, disability organisations, artists, and community groups, we aim to create a programme that not only supports individual wellbeing but strengthens connections across our whole community.
Because every movement tells a story.
Every conversation creates connection.
And every young person deserves a place to belong.
